Our
Heritage
Central Locating Service, Ltd. (CLS) has been protecting our Customers' underground
facilities since 1982. CLS has developed and enhanced its reputation for
reliability and exemplary service since its inception. Over the last three
decades, CLS established and maintained itself as one of the recognized
leaders in the utility locating services field. Our staff and vehicles
have been seen at job sites and on the roadways all across the country. People Driven to Excellence Employees of CLS are highly trained, dedicated and equipped with cutting edge technology. All employees are performance managed, with quality assurance and customer service as their primary goals, and guided by an experienced management team.
CLS leads the industry in sourcing, training and ongoing evaluation of its field technician force. Potential candidates are carefully screened and evaluated. CLS utilizes pre-employment drug screening, background checks and DMV reviews, as well as logical skills testing. Employees are randomly tested in accordance with 'the U.S. DOT, Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plans. Before any technician dons the CLS logo and travels to any site in our clearly identified fleet vehicles, he or she has received a comprehensive, ten-step training program consisting of both classroom tutoring and in-field, hands-on, monitored instruction. All candidates must successfully complete written and field certification requirements before any independent locates are conducted; and each locator is required to be re-certified annually. This process ensures the level of expertise and professionalism that CLS is committed to maintain. The CLS commitment to employee training, supervisor monitoring and follow-up exceeds the guidelines established by the National Utility Locating Contractors Association ( NULCA).
